WWE 2K Battlegrounds Patch #5 Available - Patch Notes

2K has released patch #5 on all platforms for WWE 2K Battlegrounds. The update improves and addresses multiple concerns in King of the Battleground mode, adds new hair and clothing options for Character Creator, 8 new unique Superstar animations and more.

King of the Battleground Updates

  • Performance improvements on the King of the Battleground game mode.
  • King gets eliminated if no players have been eliminated after the countdown runs out
  • Addressed reported concerns that crashes may occur while queueing up King of the Battleground
  • Addressed reported concerns that crashes may occur while in the Options menu in King of the Battleground
  • Addressed reported concerns on throws being overpowered on the King of the Battleground.
  • Addressed reported concerns that a soft lock may occur on the Pause Menu before ending a match.
  • Addressed reported concerns that the number of players may display incorrectly in King of the Battleground

General Updates

  • Added new hair and clothing options for Character Creator.
  • Added 8 new unique animations for Superstars (Edge, Big E, Big Show, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Naomi, Nia Jax).
  • General improvements to game balancing and AI.
  • General improvements to gameplay and player controls.
  • General improvements to the user interface.
  • Addressed reported concerns that a soft lock may occur in Character Editor.
  • Addressed reported concerns related to throws from the floor.
  • Stability improvements.

I was with everyone else who was disappointed last year with WWE 2K20. You could argue that there were extenuating circumstances due to the mid-development departure of Yukes, or you could blame 2K and Visual Concepts for not being able to stop a glitch-fest of a release. Either way, 2K made a the huge decision to bench its annual simulation title for at least one year. However, 2K also announced WWE 2K Battlegrounds in April, and showed that it would be a complete departure from simulation wrestling. With that in mind, let’s get into things with this WWE 2K Battlegrounds review.
