Coming off yesterday’s Arch Manning news, and then the top 100 player reveal today that showcased TreVeyon Henderson, two of the most rumored players not to be in the game are in fact in EA Sports College Football 25. So which players are not in EA Sports College Football 25?
Well, there are not a lot of confirmations on that topic even a week or so from launch, but reporter Matt Brown does have an update from EA:
Of course, who EA decides is a “major” opt out is only their definition. Every fan might have a different definition of “major” and disagree once they see the rosters. Still, it’s a confident remark from EA, and it seems like while the early numbers were over 10,000 players had opted in, that number has only increased since then.
If we do see “major” players not in the game, it seems like that will likely be due to players transferring between schools:
The key thing there is that, yes, EA Sports College Football 25 will have roster updates (which we did already know). So even if some key transfers are not there at launch, there is no reason they can’t be added in with a roster update. It seems like as long as EA gets the legal paperwork from a player, then there is no reason he can’t be added at a later date.
So, for now, it’s a question that’s to be determined. Once the game launches and we see certain players not in the game, it will be easier to get info from the source to find out if this is a short-term issue or an actual opt out by certain players.
