Madden NFL 24
What Team Are You Starting Your First Franchise With in Madden 24?
It’s the time of year where an annual question on OS gets asked: Who will you be using in franchise mode in Madden 24? It’s a fun question each year because it’s something easy to talk about before the game comes out as we can chat more broadly about the NFL, what you try to get out of a franchise mode playthrough, and we don’t yet have all the noise of what franchise mode itself is missing or doing wrong to bring down the experience. It’s a clean slate of sorts where planning can just be planning as you start to think through things while wearing your GM hat.
Who Will Be Your First Franchise Mode Team In Madden 24?
With that in mind, OSers have obviously given a bunch of thoughts so far. Many have decided to go with their favorite teams as usual, others go for the full rebuild, others are more thinking about what to do after Year 1, and then even some do the full 30-team control and have plans for various teams throughout the NFL.
The passion so many show for Madden franchise mode I think in part stems from the fact that, for many of us, it was our first franchise mode years ago. But beyond that, the 17-game season means it’s much easier to roll through multiple seasons in an NFL game than most other sports games. You also do plan more because there are more players and you get through more seasons. In other words, you do actually get to see the full rebuild happen in this franchise mode more than many other sports games. Again, since the NFL inherently has so much turnover, it is in many ways the perfect sport for a franchise mode.
One of the other real interesting aspects of any Madden franchise mode also involves the draft. While OSers will of course be creating draft classes, if EA Sports College Football had returned this year (as originally rumored), it would have been really interesting thing to see how many real players were in that game and if importing draft classes had returned. Drake Maye and Caleb Williams are two QBs already being talked about quite a bit as franchise-level QBs, and drafting a QB in franchise mode is a big deal that many of us look forward to much like waiting for that top pick when the real NFL Draft rolls around. The hope is we get that wrinkle back next year when EA Sports College Football releases.
All that said, feel free to chime and let the people know what direction you’ll be going this year (if you’re picking up Madden that is).
