There’s several different pitching inputs you can choose in MLB The Show 23. There’s “old-school” inputs like Meter, Pulse, and Analog along with the newer Pinpoint. A common theme you’ll hear from me is that you should use whatever you want. If you prefer those more old-school inputs then use them! If you want to have more control over your input and increase your chances at success, especially online, then Pinpoint pitching is the best bet.
I’ve been a big believer that MLB The Show has been the undisputed champion in the card collecting mode realm of sports games for years now. A big reason for that has been how user friendly The Show typically is in regards to not requiring a ton of real cash to play. You’ll hear SDS use the phrase “Grind99” a lot and for good reason — you can get pretty much everything just from playing the game! We’ve shown you the best camera angles and best hitting settings in MLB The Show 23 already. Let’s take a closer look at how to make Stubs in MLB The Show 23.
There’s a handful of things certain in life: death, taxes, and the Nation of Baseball Conquest map. Every year, this hulk of a map stares down any player who dares conquer the entire MLB in Conquest action. For the new players out there, this can be a daunting task so I’m here to tell you how to complete the Nation of Baseball Conquest Map in MLB The Show 23.
MLB The Show 23 has launched with more Diamond Dynasty content available day one than anytime in the mode’s history. The excitement of launch day is always overwhelming — deciding where to start and how you want to begin building your team. The additions of Negro League legends, the World Baseball Classic, and 99 overall players out of the gate makes this process even more difficult. I spent early access weekend in every corner of Diamond Dynasty and put together an itinerary of sorts to help you decide what to do first in Diamond Dynasty.
We talk about grinding in Diamond Dynasty a lot and there’s tons of rewards to earn along the way. We’ll be spending a lot of time grinding programs in MLB The Show 23, which means we’ll be earning program stars. So, what are program stars in MLB The Shows 23?
Spring Training was abuzz over the seemingly sudden emergence of New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe. A lifelong Yankees fan and New Jersey native, Volpe had performed exceptionally well in the minors and was often cited as not only the top prospect in the Yankees organization but one of the most exciting youngsters in baseball, period. After a disappointing 2022 from shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa, the Bronx Bombers announced a competition for the starting shortstop gig. Volpe decidedly won it during Spring Training with a 1.033 OPS, 5 stolen bases, 6 doubles, and 3 dingers in 55 total plate appearances. He led the spring squad in runs scored, doubles (tied with Aaaron Judge), and stolen bases (tied with Estevan Florial). At just 21 years of age, Volpe was promoted from Scranton to New York, officially making it to the show at the same exact age as his idol, Derek Jeter.
How does a developer continuously improve and refine a game that already delivers an excellent simulation of the sport? That is a fair question and a conundrum that the OOTP devs deal with now on a yearly basis. That said, Out of the Park Baseball 24 is here so let’s get into the review.
And we’re back with another update for eFootball 2023. This time things seem different as Konami really put some hours into addressing some core gameplay issues that have plagued not on eFootball since its release but also going back to PES. No messing around! Let’s dive in!
There’s a lot of focus on the “stick skills” aspect of Diamond Dynasty. That’s for good reason as a player’s mechanical skills will ultimately determine how successful they’ll be on the virtual diamond. However, we can’t ignore the integral strategy aspect of Diamond Dynasty as well. With so much content available in MLB The Show 23, there’s more cards to choose from than ever before. Ultimately, the cards chosen will depend on your collection and personal preference. How you use them will entirely be up to you.
Spring is a time for hope, rebirth, and baseball. As the ground thaws and the ballparks begin to open again for the sport that continues to cling tenuously to the title of America’s pastime, there’s a sense among every team that anything is possible. Just as the MLB season kicks off with cock-eyed optimism for all these ballclubs, anyone who enjoys video game baseball approaches MLB The Show 23with the expectation that the game will make the kind of leap that a team hopes for from a top prospect. Though the series from SDS has been consistent in producing a quality baseball simulation, there’s been a gnawing feeling in recent years that it might be resting on its laurels a tad without much in the way of innovation.
