The ability to shop player(s) for a prospects package is an excellent addition. The updated catcher-framing model and improved scouting mechanism are all part of the minutia that makes the off-the-field running of a franchise equally exciting as what takes place on the field.
The gameplay has been refined to help maximize the authenticity and reduce some of the oddities from the past. For me, the ability to sit for hours and page through the near-limitless amount of information and create my baseball universe the way I see fit has always been a time-stealer, in the best of ways.
I run a standard league MLB league, and the ability to edit my depth charts, players, and roles in how the players participate is worthy of a game all by itself.
The Faces of the Franchise program debuted with the launch of MLB The Show 22 and brought plenty of new structural changes to how we do things. In the “old” days, the Inning Programs usually featured a choice pack featuring three bosses that rotated each program. During the grind, you could earn a free pack and take any one of the bosses you wanted. Pretty sweet deal, right? The bosses were also sellable so you could make some stubs out of the grind — or even potentially buy the other two from each program. There were also a myriad of other rewards like henchmen packs (essentially lesser bosses), bat skins, icons and a lot more. Suffice to say, the Faces of the Franchise Program was very similar to this old structure but with some key changes.
The last time there was news related to UFL was way back in January. This came via the official gameplay reveal, which we covered here. It’s been some time since then, so what’s going on with the UFL these days? The original video below was primarily a developer diary explaining how UFLwas made, but towards the end of the video we got a little more meat. With strong PES and FIFAvibes, the UFL gameplay seems to have a solid base. While I can’t expect them to get everything right, the sole fact that we’re even discussing a third company making a soccer game is a plus in everyone’s book. It’s been a little quiet since the big reveal, but with them being based out of Ukraine there are other more important circumstances at play that have certainly led to communication not coming as frequently as it normally would. Let’s catch up and see what’s been going on with UFL now.
NBA 2K22 offers a variety of ways to play its MyCareer mode, but without question one of the most popular destinations within both The City or The Neighborhood is The Rec. A staple of series for years now, it’s the place you want to head if you’re looking for online 5-vs-5 games that mirror what you see in the NBA. However, it shouldn’t take more than a few games struggling to find the rest of your team in The Rec and then laboring through some kind of demoralizing blowout before you realize that this building is in need of some serious renovations. Between outdated matchmaking that seems incapable of consistently producing competitive games, the plague of quitters that have infected the place since it was built, and a teammate grading system in need of some updating to emphasize team play, there is plenty of room for improvement within its confines. So, let’s talk about how to fix The Rec in NBA 2K.
For the second time in as many weeks, details have emerged regarding All Elite Wrestling’s console video game officially titled AEW: Fight Forever. In the latest reveal from AEW Games, wrestlers Kris Statlander, Adam Cole (Bay-Bay!), Evil Uno, and referee Aubrey Edwards gathered in front of a camera to reveal not one but two new character models. They also shared further details on the game, confirmed some rumored information, and showed off some exclusive gameplay footage. Here’s what we learned from the AEW Games event.
