Easy Day Studios is looking to feature a ton of community content this holiday season in Skater XL. If you recall a few months ago, the team promised more community maps would arrive at a later date, when the game launched with 3 community maps. It’s good to see they aren’t backing out of that deal.
More details are coming soon, but in the meantime, take a look at the trailer below.
Skater XL boasts gear and clothing from over 30 major skateboarding brands, including Etnies, Vans, Dickies, DC Shows, Primitive Skateboards, and New Balance. In addition to being able to fully customize their own character, players can choose from top skateboard pros Tiago Lemos, Tom Asta, Brandon Westgate, and Evan Smith as they shred the asphalt.
Skater XL is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC/Steam for $39.99. If you haven’t read our Skate XL review, you can check it out right here.
Yes, we all love to string together a 19-trick combo and pull off technical tricks like a 1080, followed by a 720 flip while grinding a telephone pole. But let’s face it, that’s not what skateboarding is all about. And that’s what makes Skater XL so unique. This isn’t about building a career with a create a player, doing an ollie over bums or trying to collect letters. It’s honestly about the art and evolution of the sport.
