Signature Series Adam Wainwright Added to 6th Inning Program

The 6th Inning Program is in its early stages, and the first player program added to it is for Signature Series Adam Wainwright. The 40-year-old closer and starter is on a roll lately, and I’m almost curious if we might see him in the Monthly Awards program as well. This card is a 96 overall.

Waino has a solid pitch mix for a non-power starter. He comes with a sinker, a big loopy curve, a cutter with some level of speed differentiation, and a low 80s changeup. His calling card is the tremendous control he has for most of his pitches, and he has 90 H/9. I think this card has some upside. Maybe he can’t quite be a right-handed version of Cliff Lee, but I think crafty players will find some use for him.
