Rocket League Frosty Fest and First Collegiate Rocket League Wildcard Begins Today
Rocket League’s Frosty Fest makes its return today with in-game events through January 4, 2021, featuring Challenges and three Limited Time Modes. Players will be able to unlock Frosty Fest themed items such as the Holiday Bow Topper, Holiday Hearth Wheels, and Xmas Lights Animated Decal, by completing Event Challenges. Additionally, the Mr. Floeberg Antenna will be free in the Item Shop for the entire event.
The first Limited Time Mode will be the new Winter Breakaway, a twist on Snow Day mode on a snowed out Throwback Stadium. Winter Breakaway will be followed by Spike Rush and 2v2 Heatseeker (both modes will be played on snowy Arenas). The schedule for the Limited Time Modes is below:
- December 14: Frosty Fest begins with Winter Breakaway
- December 21: Spike Rush returns
- December 28: Heatseeker returns
- January 4: Frosty Fest Ends

Also of note, Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) Fall 2020 is reaching the end of the road, with The University of Akron, Northwood University, University of Missouri and the University of North Texas teams punching their ticket to the CRL National Championship on January 7th and 8th, 2021.
However, there’s still an opportunity for 16 collegiate teams to fill the final four sports in the CRL National Championship with the first ever CRL Wildcard. Taking place today and tomorrow, the CRL Wildcard features an Eastern and Western Conference (with 8 teams in each) where the top two teams from each conference will advance to the CRL National Championship.
For more information about the event and which college teams are competing, make sure to read the latest blog. Fans can tune into the CRL Wildcard on the official Rocket League Twitch channel today and tomorrow, beginning at 8:00 PM ET. The pre-show has already started.
