Public Lobbies Coming Soon to GRID, Adjusting Race Length in Career Mode & Other Requests Being Looked Into

Codemasters has set a goal to have public lobbies featured in GRID by early January, possibly as early as before Christmas, as they continue to test it out. Public lobbies have been a big request from the GRID community, since the game was released a couple of months ago. This will allow players the ability to view other lobbies that players are creating, and jump into them if they desire.

The team has been making some adjustments and testing how AI cars are used in Quick Match events. They are also looking into how the lobby timer system works, which will encourage lobbies to fill up with more human players and less AI drivers.

In Career Mode, they are looking for ways to adjust the length of races, in hopes to test out the feature on PC early next year and fully implement it across all platforms, shortly afterwards.

After a five-year absence, Codemasters is back with its latest installment of the GRID series, simply titled GRID. After the release of GRID: Autosport in 2014, the series went into hiatus, but now with promises of a better driving model, stunning graphics and solid AI, Codemasters is about to release the long-lost relative to the TOCA series back out into the wild. In today’s sim-heavy racing landscape, there is not necessarily a need for titles like GRID and Wreckfest — and the amount of room for error is noticeably smaller than in previous generations — so how does the GRID reboot hold up?
