NHL 24 Roster and Matchmaking Updates Available Today

EA Sports has released their first NHL 24 roster update today. For those of you looking for Hybrid controls and standard goalie controls, those are still planned to release later this month.

The team also released an update to improve matchmaking search times. Check out the details below.

• The “Finding Teammate” and “Finding Opponent” matchmaking stages use individual or team Matchmaking Rating (MMR) and Ping to find potential teammates or opponents within a similar range. 
  
  • We have increased how fast and wide the MMR and Ping range grows over time. This will create more opportunities to connect with Teammates and Opponents as matchmaking progresses.
• We have reduced the total “Finding Teammate” maximum search time based on Mode:
  • QUICKPLAY 3v3 reduced from 150 seconds to 60 seconds
  • EASHL 3v3 reduced from 180 seconds to 90 seconds
  • EASHL 6v6 reduced from 180 seconds to 120 seconds
• Currently, all World of Chel modes require both teams’ goalies to match (Human vs Human or CPU vs CPU). We have modified this rule for QUICKPLAY 3v3 to help create quicker matchmaking:
  •  After 30 seconds, QUICKPLAY 3v3 will allow Human vs CPU goalie matchups.
