Fans can learn how new features change the gameplay meta like the Exhaust Engine’s increased range of goal scoring variety due to the Sustained Pressure system and the visible energy levels of goalies in the game with the new Goalie Fatigue System. Fans can also learn more about how Physics-Based Contact brings a new tactical layer this year and why the Vision Passing System opens up the ice for game changing plays.

Based on feedback from the NHL 24 community playtest, the team will be adding Hybrid Controls as an additional option, alongside of Skill Stick and the new Total Control scheme. They will also add the option to use the new Goalie Tether control scheme or the standard Goalie Control system from NHL 23. These changes will be added in a post launch update.

NHL 24 is scheduled to release on October 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those that pre-order the X-Factor Edition, it arrives three days earlier on October 3. EA Play members can get early access with the NHL 24 trial on October 3, along with member-only rewards throughout the season.
