The Young Stars event has been going on for a couple days now, so it’s about time I catch up on it.
There are 17 players in this set, with a couple really standing out. The first card I’ll point out is one of the 91 overalls from the set, Mackenzie Blackwood. Goalies remain a touchy subject this year in NHL 20, and so on some level it’s about which goaltender you just trust the most. That being said, Blackwood essentially has 90s across the board.
Elias Pettersson also gets a card worthy of the year he’s having. Equipped with 98 speed, 99 agility, 98 acceleration, and 90s across the board for his shooting, he’s a destroyer of worlds at this point in HUT. This is easily the best card in the set, and it’s also one that will cost you accordingly.
The other card I’ll highlight is Jesse Puljujarvi. This is like the lite version of Pettersson. He’s also super fast, but just not as fast. He shoots it well, but just not as well. The thing with Puljujarvi though is he’s massive at 6-foot-4, and he plays wing rather than center like Pettersson.
The other players in the Young Stars set are: Charlie McAvoy (90 overall), Jesperi Kotkaniemi (91), Victor Olofsson (89), Bowen Byram (90), Thatcher Demko (87), Nick Suzuki (86), Andreas Wingerli (86), Cale Makar (85), Barrett Hayton (84), Jack Hughes (84), Erik Brannstrom (84), Ethan Bear (83), Jordan Greenway (83).
This portion of the promotion is running until November 15.
