New Forza Motorsport Trailer, Gameplay, Screenshots and Details Have Arrived
New Forza Motorsport details have emerged from the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase earlier today. Not only did we get a new trailer, but we also get 5 minutes of gameplay, new screenshots and some juicy details.
While an official release date hasn’t been announced, we do know that it’s scheduled to arrive sometime in 2023. It will also arrive on Day One with Xbox Game Pass on console, Cloud and PC.
Turn10 calls it the most technically advanced racing game ever made.
The accuracy of our overhauled physics, the beauty of our cars and tracks, our new dynamic time of day, advanced car damage, and real time ray tracing on track lead to a generational leap in immersion. Forza Motorsport is the most technically advanced racing game ever made.
Forza Motorsport will feature a fully dynamic time of day system that brings tracks to life in stunning detail, and like weather, it is available across all tracks. Adapting the track surface temperature to changes in the time of day alters the ambient temperature, which in turn influences track surface temperatures. As weather and track temperatures change, it will also affect your car’s grip adding more depth to the racing experience.
Photogrammetry and 3D materials scans were used to capture the environments, and advanced rendering and procedural generation techniques were used to render the track at a new level of realism. The grass, rocks, 3D vegetation, sky and clouds are a demonstration of a generational leap in beauty and detail, while forward+ lighting and physically-based lights combine to enhance the realism of our Motorsports world.
- 48 times improvement in the fidelity of the physics simulation
- New features added include tire and fuel management, multiple tire compounds, and new in-depth car building to create the ultimate racing playset
- Ray tracing especially shines on engine bays with their complex self-reflection
Car damage is faithfully replicated down to the smallest scratch on the bodywork in Forza Motorsport. New simulation details include the directionality of damage, how the paint peels off at exposed and raised edges, how abrasions occur on the wheels, and where dirt accumulates.
Check out the official trailer for the all-new Forza Motorsport below, along with 5 minutes of gameplay footage lead by GM Dan Greenawalt and creative director Chris Esaki.
