Vol. 9 introduces a high-stakes PvPvE multiplayer mode featuring extraction-based gameplay, drawing inspiration from Need for Speed Most Wanted. Lockdown brings a new dimension to Unbound’s street racing, allowing players to form crews of up to three members and compete against rival teams. Racers take on Contracts, infiltrate Lockup zones, navigate the perilous Lockdown Zone and secure the Extraction truck. Victorious teams are rewarded with some of the game’s rarest vehicles, including the Custom BMW M3 GTR ’05—famously driven by Razor in Most Wanted—alongside 14 other iconic cars inspired by the Blacklist.

Vol. 9 also introduces a wealth of new PvP content, including 14 playlists with over 60 routes and event configurations. These playlists feature diverse themes, such as the franchise’s first motorcycle-exclusive events, special challenges celebrating Need for Speed’s 30th anniversary, races inspired by Most Wanted, new Drift Pro challenges and more. The update also includes a new Speed Pass and an optional Premium track with 75 tiers of unlockable content, featuring the fully customizable SUBARU Impreza WRX STI ’99 and Honda Integra Type R ’98.
