NBA 2K25 The W Information Released
Earlier this week 2K unveiled information for MyNBA and MyGM, and now 2K has released its Courtside Report for The W in NBA 2K25.
The community was lukewarm on the MyNBA and MyGM news, and I think The W information will mostly meet the same response. It’s not that there aren’t improvements with The W, but the issue with The W is more the lack of online support the mode gets from those who buy the game. The community is so heavily weighted towards the traditional MyPlayer mode that it’s hard to find games online a lot of the time in The W.
That said, the goal with this mode is to become the GOAT, and you need to surpass many players this go around.
You’ll be dropped right into the captivating 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year race, which is the overarching narrative of your first season, competing against players like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Kamilla Cardoso.
Bringing back another staple of MyPlayer, press conferences will be in The W and will be fully-voiced. In addition, there is a new The W Online court that has a forest theme.
Ultimately, I think our community would just love to see any new upgrades to the WNBA version of MyNBA and be able to FINALLY play head-to-head games online with the WNBA teams. There’s still no word if we’ll be able to do that this year, and it’s wild we still can’t do it after all these years.
NBA 2K25 releases on September 6 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Fans who purchase before September 6 can play up to two days early, starting on Wednesday, September 4 at 5 AM ET. Players who previously pre-ordered any edition on compatible platforms at participating retailers are automatically eligible for the Early Tip-Off benefit. The PC version will have feature parity with the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 version of the game.
