NBA 2K25 Sliders From Eccentric

When it comes to NBA 2K25 sliders, we’re still in the early days of things as 2K’s gameplay can change a lot in the opening month or two via patches. However, OS user EccentricMeat has a set that I currently use.

Sliders always come down to personal preference, and 2K is one of those games that can feel wildly different depending on what type of player you are. But for me, Eccentric’s sliders are hitting the right notes for now. With his sliders, there is a little more legwork to do, but the things he asks you to do have become commonplace for me in 2K games. I’ll let him explain below, but just realize a little more goes into this than just downloading sliders.

NBA 2K5 Sliders And Settings

If you want star players to force up slightly fewer shots and instead get their team more involved, while also getting more common-sense help defense rotations instead of elite shooters being left wide open time after time, it only takes a few settings tweaks at the start of each game to get there!

When a game starts, simply pause and go to Gameplan > Defensive Settings. Click R1/RB to cycle through the individual players.

  • For any star player, set the “Hedge” and “Hedge (Center)” settings to Hard Hedge. This will make the hedge defender kick out to cover the lane and be in position to contest a jumpshot. Think of this as a “soft switch”, where the hedge defender will return to cover the screener once the on-ball defender fights over/under the screen.
  • For any elite 3pt shooter, set “Stay Attached” to Always. This will make it so the game does not send help off of this shooter to leave him wide open. I try to limit the “Stay Attached – Always” setting to two players on the court at one time so that there are still plenty of help options for the game to choose from, but feel free to experiment if you so choose.
  • For any average/poor 3pt shooter, set “Stay Attached” to Never. This will force the game to send these defenders to help first, ensuring elite shooters stay well covered and poor shooters are the only wide open pass options.

Optional Ratings/Tendencies Adjustments

In MyNBA, go to Menu > Front Office > Roster, enable Quick Edit (press the Start/Pause button), go to Tendency View (Y/Triangle), and then mass-edit (click A on Xbox or X on PS5 to highlight and edit the entire column) the roster to add +10 to the following tendencies:

-Attack Strong on Drive (labeled T/Finish)
-Dish to Open Man (labeled T/Dish)
-Take Charge (labeled T/TakeC)
-Foul (labeled T/Foul)

Scroll to the right about two-thirds of the scroll-bar on the bottom to find T/Finish and T/Dish; T/TakeC and T/Foul are almost at the end of the list if you scroll all the way to the right.

After increasing these tendencies you should get a more aggressive and deliberate offense by the CPU, as well as noticeably more foul calls and charge attempts.

I also wanted to make the dribbling a little more explosive (especially to offset the high Body Up Sensitivity slider) while also making the overall gameplay a little more hectic and dynamic with tipped passes, loose balls, turnovers, and fast break opportunities. To do so, I simply gave everyone a +1 to a few badges. To do so, simply follow the same steps laid out above to edit tendencies, except this time you’ll have to keep hitting Y/Triangle until you get over to the Badge view. From there, enable the mass-edit once again and flick the right stick up once (or down once and then up once, if you don’t want to increase the badge level for those who already have the badge but do want to make sure every player at least has the Bronze) for each of these Badges:

-Glove (more on-ball steals)
-Interceptor (more tipped/stolen passes)
-Lightning Launch (faster launches when dribbling)
-Pick Dodger (optional; makes defenders better at fighting through screens)

At the start of every new year in MyNBA, you’ll have to re-apply these badge edits to apply them to the new rookies. To do so, go through the mass-edit process once again only this time make sure to flick the right stick down once, then up. This will keep all the existing players at the same badge level they were previously, while making sure all rookies are at least Bronze level for each of these four badges.
