NBA 2K24 Kobe-Era Custom Roster

The Bonk Shut Up and Jam Kobe-Era Experience roster comes from OS user Bonk_McNeeley and is a custom roster starting from the place of “imagine you came home and your parents bought you NBA 2K3.”

This is an NBA 2K24 custom roster with some creative liberties in place, and a lot of love went into this project, which will be detailed below.

The Roster

– Every team has at least 14 players, based on where each team roster stood at the end of 2002-2003 season.

Creative liberties were taken!

– 2002 NBA Draft Picks who didn’t play in the league during the 2002-2003 season replaced their roster equivalent on their respective teams; Krstic (Nets), Logan (Warriors), Songalia (Celtics), Scola (Spurs).
– The Cleaves/Jones Trade goes through! The Kings and Cavs agreed to trade Jumaine Jones for Mateen Cleaves going into the season, however, Cleaves failed a physical and the trade was rescinded.
– All rotations have been edited using all pertinent information. Playoff squads set to nine man rotations, while non-playoff squads set to ten.
– All contracts have been edited using all pertinent information. Players – if they voided their ability to end their contract earlier in favor of signing a long term extension, rather than give them the extension, I gave them player options so superstars hit free agency.
– Coaches – I got as close as possible to their actual salary, however in most cases that information wasn’t released. As far as length on contract, I based it on how much longer they coached the team, rather than actual contract length.
– Rookies – All rookies and second year players come equipped with team options, as well as guys like Jay Williams given full length contracts.
– All coaches have been edited, however, with a twist. Sorry to all those Keith Smart fans out there, if coaches were fired during the season and replaced by their assistant, I kept them; Lucas (Cavs), Gentry (Clippers), Kruger (Hawks). Hubie Brown (Grizzlies) wasn’t an assistant replacement, so he has been added. Lastly, sorry Frank Johnson (Suns) fans, I started the D’Antoni era early.

The Players

– Every player on the roster has had their ratings, tendencies, and badges edited per Sim Gaming Network philosophy (Special praise deservedly so going to GT: TheDennyCrane).
– Heights, weights, positions, handedness, age, and all that other bio meat has been edited to coincide with RealGM.
– All play types have been edited using all pertinent information.
– Free Agency has been filled with all real players, including some blasts from the past; Lenny Cooke, Chris Porter, Rod Grizzard.
– All accessories have been edited
– Signature edits made; for example, guys like Robert Pack weren’t doing 360 dunks during the 2002-2003 season.
– All potentials edited.

The Coaches

– Help Defense, Coaching Sliders, POE’s, and Coach Systems have all been edited.

The Scenario

– Team intel, Trade Block, Targets, Untouchables all updated.
– MyNBA and Sliders edited per Sim Gaming Network
– I apologize, Free Agency has some fake players that were added by 2K. DON’T SIGN THEM!

Special Thanks to GT: TheDennyCrane (Use his Kobe Era Sliders), GT: mr_pickles20, MJWizards, and GT: haroldo078 (You three put out some really great work, that kept me engaged the entire process!

If you want to throw a little something for effort so my lady thinks this was worth my time!
