NBA 2K23 Championship Edition Costs $150, Comes With NBA League Pass
We mentioned yesterday that it looked like the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition that comes with NBA League Pass would potentially be the cheapest way to get NBA League Pass for the 2022-23 season, and today 2K has confirmed that as you can pre-order the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition for $150. I don’t want to scream in my Don West voice too hard because ultimately it is not our job to be hype men for 2K or the NBA, but this seems like a great deal even if you will never play NBA 2K23.
Cheapest Way To Get NBA League Pass
“ONLY $149 ON STRETCH PAY! ONLY $149 ON STRETCH PAY. JUST DO IT! I’M TELLING YA GANG JUST DO IT!” — Something Don West would probably say right now.
Again, a “normal” NBA League Pass subscription costs $199 on its own as of last year in the US, and so it’s already cheaper to just buy NBA 2K23. On top of that, the NBA 2K23 game costs $70 so the math alone is clear here.
As of now, I’ve only seen the pre-order up at 2K’s official site. I’m also not sure how international NBA League Pass is going to work here because there are some differences with blackouts in Canada and the US versus other countries:

In addition, 2K has listed what countries will not be able to take part in this offer:
Q: Is the 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass offered with the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition available worldwide?Â
A: The 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass is not available with the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition in Japan or China. Also, the NBA League Pass is not available in Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Kosovo, North Korea, Russia, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, or Syria.
If you don’t want to order from 2K’s website today, it does seem like some normal retailers will be getting copies of this edition of the game as well. On top of that, you do not get the League Pass code when you buy the game. The codes will be delivered on September 27 (NBA 2K23 releases on September 9). If you wait until after the game releases, it seems like you will not be able to get a code.
Other key aspects here are the digital and physical copies of this version will get codes. And if you’re someone like me who already owns NBA League Pass, you can cancel your current subscription and then just use this one instead as we have not been charged for the 2022-23 season as of yet.
We’ll keep an eye on any other oddities that might pop up here (again, I’m not sure how blackouts will work for international subscribers as of now), and I’m also wondering if this is the version with League Pass that comes with or without commercials. I’m going to assume it’s the $199 version with commercials rather than the $249 version without commercials or the $279 version that has no commercials and NBA TV.
Regardless, this seems like quite a deal, and I’m curious to see if the NBA finds a different way to give League Pass out for a cheaper price than this, or if NBA 2K23 will officially be the cheapest way to watch all your NBA games next season.
