NBA 2K21 next-gen videos and news have finally emerged this week, and some folks have done a good job aggregating a lot of the clips from 2K and putting them into tidy little packages on platforms people use the most. Two videos that I think are especially helpful come from GamingWithOva and PAC Hoops.
GamingWithOva took all the video clips from Mike Wang’s 2K gameplay blog (part one), and put them in one YouTube video.
These clips include Steph Curry in shootaround, a Curry bank shot, a Curry pull-up/layup, a LeBron step-back jumper, a Devin Booker step-back jumper, a Harden size-up step-back move, and a Steph lob to Giannis on the blacktop.
You can also see my breakdown of the first gameplay blog here where I talk about the positives and negatives of what I’ve seen so far on the gameplay front. You can also see these individual clips on our forums, courtesy of OS user CaVsFaN2273.
PAC Hoops did the comparison between current-gen and next-gen face scans that we got a good look at in the initial NBA 2K21 next-gen trailer.
These comparisons include Steve Kerr, Zion, Marquese Chriss, Kevon Looney, Boban Marjanovic, Tim Hardaway Jr., Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry.
We’ll get longer videos at some point before release, but in the meantime, I think these two videos help to point out the visual upgrades and also how the movement of the players is changing between the two generations.
Chase has written at Operation Sports for over 10 years, and he's been playing sports games way longer than that. He loves just about any good sports game but gravitates to ones that coincide with the ongoing real seasons of the NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and so on. As of now, he's gearing up for EA Sports College Football 25 and what should be a wild summer while still dabbling in the latest Top Spin and MLB The Show.
