NBA 2K League - Week 7 Recap

BELIEVELAND: Down 58-42 entering the fourth quarter, Cavs Legion GC held T-Wolves Gaming to six points in the final quarter and pulled off one of the most memorable comebacks in NBA 2K League history. Highlighted by scoring the game-winning basket, newly-acquired Cleveland power forward Trevion “All Hail Trey” Hendrix recorded 22 points and grabbed five steals in the win. With two victories in Week 7, Cavs Legion GC improved to 7-5 on the season.
BLAZERS REMAIN HOT: After earning two victories in Week 7, Blazer5 Gaming improved to 10-1 and took the top spot in the NBA 2K League standings from Mavs Gaming due to point differential. Star point guard Nidal “Mama Im Dat Man” Nasser registered 21 points while center Dayne “OneWildWalnut” Downey added 10 points and 19 rebounds in a 66-48 victory over Kings Guard Gaming. Portland also defeated Pacers Gaming 66-52 and now has a 22-3 record all-time in NBA 2K League regular season competition.
SIXERS SNAP THE STREAK: Behind 39 points from small forward Rashann “ZDS” Petty, 76ers GC handed Mavs Gaming their first loss of the regular season in a 74-68 victory. Philadelphia point guard Ethan “Radiant” White added a double-double with 15 points and 14 assists. Rooke Peter “PeteBeBallin” Malin tallied 22 points and 15 rebounds for Mavs Gaming as they fell to 10-1 in the 2019 regular season.
MOVE OVER, MICKEY: The NBA 2K League announced that THE TICKET powered by AT&T, the league’s third and final tournament of the season, will take place Thursday, June 13 through Saturday, June 15 at The Fortress at Full Sail University in Orlando. THE TICKET is the only tournament that guarantees the winner an automatic playoff spot. All 21 NBA 2K League teams will also be competing for a prize pool of $180,000. WEEK 7 GRINDERS
Brendan “Reizey” Hill of Magic Gaming was named Intel Player of the Week for Week 7. The No. 9 overall pick in the 2019 Draft averaged 20.5 points and 11.5 assists per game with 75% shooting from beyond the arc for the week.
Celtics Crossover Gaming point guard Albano “oFAB” Thomallari averaged 23.5 points and 15 assists per game as Boston went 2-0 in Week 7.
