MLB The Show 24 Fictional Roster

The Show and fictional rosters have been a great combo through the years on OS, and OS user shanev has a really good MLB The Show 24 fictional roster out now in the Vault.

Fictional rosters in MLB The Show (and baseball games in general) is a very freeing feeling for some of us on OS. A lot of us are deeply passionate about roster construction, bullpen management, minor leaguers, etc. and so some of us do 30-team control and others just really get way too in the weeds trying to keep the 93-man rosters “realistic” as we go through a franchise. With fictional rosters, we can sort of relax a bit.

With these rosters, shanev did a lot of simulating and curating to try and find the right balance with teams, player names, and so on to keep things engaging as you start up a new franchise. Things should be relatively balanced, and there’s a healthy amount of solid prospects as well to get a good base going for Year 1.

I completed my fictional roster today. I built a solid base of players for a full 93-man roster for each team. I’ve cleaned up some of the problems with generated players, the game has trouble with variations of windups for instance.

The teams are all pretty well balanced, so you should be able to jump right in with your favorite team and start playing. I didn’t fix contracts, so the end of the first season might get interesting during free agency.

There are several players in the league approaching milestone statistics, and several potential future hall of fame candidates. I think there’s also a decent amount of prospects in each system as well.

I’ve simmed a few seasons and have seen pretty good numbers, nothing out of the ordinary, which I think is good. And I’ve seen several different winners and playoff appearances as well, so good parity.

I hope you enjoy them and if you see anything off, please let me know so I could work on them for a future update.
