MLB The Show 22
MLB The Show 22 Diamond Dynasty - All Collections At Launch
Diamond Dynasty can be a bit overwhelming at launch, so we just wanted to put together all the “major” collections that are at your disposal as of now. There will be tons of collections throughout the year, but the game has to start somewhere. So this will cover all the MLB The Show 22 launch collections, which includes team and MLB collections, series-specific collections, and the pre-order collections.

You can get one Cover Athlete Series player if you pre-ordered the MLB The Show 22 Digital Deluxe Edition. Like prior pre-order collections, it’s likely that these cards will be slowly rolled out over the course of the year.

- MLB The Show 22 Shohei Ohtani
- MLB The Show 21 Fernando Tatis Jr.
- MLB The Show 20 Javy Baez

- MLB The Show 18 Aaron Judge

- MLB The Show 06 David Ortiz
(Fun fact: The missing years — at least for the US covers — involve Yasiel Puig, David Wright, Adrian Gonzalez, Dustin Pedroia.)
Takashi Okazaki Collection
You can get one of these cards in the MVP Edition, or two of them in the Digital Deluxe edition.
- Rickey Henderson
- Randy Johnson
- Mickey Mantle
- Chase Utley
- Vladimir Guerrero
Again, I assume we’ll have more chances to get these cards throughout the year, but there is no collection reward as of now for these players.
Prospect Series Collection
You will earn these gold Prospects players through the Nation of Baseball Conquest map. There are other diamond Prospects to earn through a couple other packs as of now, but the easiest way to earn the Adley Rutschman will be through Conquest.
If you collect 25 of the Prospect players overall, you will earn Prospect Adley Rutschman:
Rookie Series Collection
There are currently 14 Rookie Series players at launch. You need to collect 10 to get Rookie Mark Prior
Breakout Series Collection
There are 22 Breakout Series players at launch. You will need to collect 15 to get Breakout Dave Parker.
All-Star Series Collection
There are 35 All-Star Series players at launch. You need to collect 15 to acquire All-Star Joe Nathan.
Veteran Series Collection
There are 14 Veteran Series players at launch. You need 10 of them to acquire Veteran Andrelton Simmons.
Bottom Line
Patience and persistence are the two keys here with collections. You don’t need to get Randy Johnson tomorrow, but just chip away at team collections as you go. However, don’t overlook the concept of keeping up with player series throughout the year. If you don’t think you have many Breakout players at some point, maybe go and try and grab some before there is a new collection that comes out that ends up raising the prices on all Breakout players.
The key aspect to collections is trying to “read the room” before SDS announces a new collection. If you can stay up to date with a lot of these collections, then it will cost you a lot fewer stubs later on because you’ll already have a lot of the players before they go up in price. Conversely, some of these pre-order collections are going to be very expensive early on, but they will go way down in price as the year progresses.
