MLB The Show 21 - Headliners Set 20 Signature Series Anthony Rizzo

Headliners Set 20 Signature Series Anthony Rizzo has replaced Postseason Bob Gibson in Headliners packs today. Signature Series Anthony Rizzo is a 96 overall. (PS, I guess I missed a Headliners player at some point since my numbering system is off by one, and I had Gibson as Headliners 18 but he’s 19. However, I didn’t duplicate any players along the way. So who the heck did I miss this year? Anyway…)

Rizzo is your prototypical sweet-swinging 1B who comes equipped with elite hitting attributes across the board. He has 96 contact vs. RHP, 94 contact vs. LHP, 98 power vs. RHP, 89 power vs. LHP, and 91 vision. He also has 90 fielding and is basically going to be a strength in every way at 1B. Of course, he has no secondary positions or any other way to accrue value beyond 1B, but that seems like a fair trade. His slightly open stance generally clicks with me, and I see no reason why this card should not play very well — minus the fact that he’s got stiff competition at 1B.
