MLB The Show 21 - Headliners Set 13 All-Star Pedro Martinez

Headliners Set 13 All-Star Pedro Martinez replaced All-Star Joe Morgan in Headliners packs today. All-Star Pedro Martinez is a 94 overall.

This is the third Pedro Martinez card of the season and the second SP version to come to MLB The Show 21 Diamond Dynasty. There are some clear benefits to this card over the 42 Series version (better stamina, better H/9) but it also isn’t all positives. With the All-Star Pedro, you have a cutter instead of a sinker, and you have a circle change instead of a normal changeup. The circle change is inherently a harder pitch to use with pinpoint pitching, and the cutter is arguably a less effective pitch than the sinker. On top of that, there is not much speed difference between the cutter and fastball.

This is not me saying not go get the All-Star Pedro Martinez, but if you’ve invested time into the 42 Series version and already have it to PxP level four or five, you should not feel like you can’t just stick with that iteration until the top-end version comes out later this cycle.
