MLB The Show 20: Veteran Cy Young in Headliners Set 15 and a Stubs Sale

Headliners Set 15 Cy Young replaces Gold Glove Award Ozzie Smith in Headliners packs today. Veteran Cy Young is a 96 overall. This means he is tied with Future Stars Luis Patino as the top-rated player in the community market now.

Cy Young has a five-pitch mix, and his shtick is that he has a solid mid-90s fastball and then four junk pitches that are much slower. The issue with him tends to be the range in his pitch speed isn’t extreme enough, but he has a changeup, 12-6 curve, sweeping curve and screwball as those four off-speed pitches.

The odds on the Headliners packs remain the same as always, so good luck if you try getting him in packs as you’ll have a 1:10 chance at a diamond, albeit that diamond might not be Cy Young.

Stubs Sale

On top of that, I believe this is the first Stubs Sale of the year. The 15 percent off is not as crazy as the sales can get, and I only call out this sale because it usually causes prices in the community market to go up. However, which cards go up tends to vary a bit. It’s usually more focused in high-end diamonds that end up getting a boost, but we’ll have to see what plays out here during a new season.
