- Major focus on defense, fielders are more efficient with vastly improved situational awareness
- Players are rated to get a jump on a ball, which is tied to their fielding ability attribute (higher the rating, the lower the chance of getting a bad jump)
- There are branching animations for every single tag in the game
- New umpire animations
- Greater hit variety this year
- Motion captured all-new double play turns, catches and throws
- Recorded more player, outfield and dugout celebrations
- All errors can branch into fielding error reactions
- Brand new Choice Packs revealed
- All types of Conquest maps can be created
