The Harvest cards got their expected upgrades yesterday, along with the Ultimate Kickoff players also getting their expected boosts with the changes to Team of the Week 13 (or in Hockenson’s case, his Harvest card). Here’s a quick breakdown of any major changes (beyond the overall rating) that were altered.
Micah Hyde got a +1 to his overall rating.
He also gets:
- +2 to play recognition (now a 94)
- +1 to pursuit (83)
- +1 to man coverage (82)
- +1 to zone coverage (92)
- +2 to tackling (75)
Sadly, Hyde gets no changes to his overall speed. He’s slightly better in coverage now and has some improved (but still bad) tackling.
Calvin Ridley got a +1 to his overall rating.
He also gets:
- +1 to catching (84)
- +1 to catch in traffic (83)
- +1 to spectacular catch (87)
- +2 to short-route running (85)
- +2 to medium-route running (88)
- +2 to deep-route running (90)
Again, no speed changes, but now he’s a better receiver overall.
T.J. Hockenson got a +1 to his overall rating.
He also gets:
- +1 to catching (91)
- +1 to catch in traffic (90)
- +1 to spectacular catch (90)
- +1 to short-route running (85)
- +1 to medium-route running (81)
- +1 to run blocking (73)
A pattern is beginning to emerge with how the attribute boosts were given out. Not much changed with the physical attributes, but Hockenson’s a better receiver and blocker now.
Roquan Smith got a +2 to his overall rating.
He also gets:
- +1 to speed (88)
- +1 to acceleration (90)
- +1 to strength (81)
- +3 to tackling (91)
- +3 to play recognition (86)
- +2 to block shedding (76)
- +2 to power (92)
- +2 to zone coverage (83)
With a +2 boost in overall, that unlocks a chance for some physical upgrades in the MUT world it seems. Smith gets a small boost to his overall physical profile and speed, and his overall fit in the pass coverage archetype gets more rounded out.
Marshon Lattimore got a +1 to his overall rating.
He also gets:
- +2 to play recognition (84)
- +2 to man coverage (90)
- +1 to zone coverage (83)
- +1 to press (85)
Lattimore gets a couple coverage upgrades, but no dice on the physical upgrades.
Dak Prescott got a +1 to his overall rating.
He also gets:
- +1 to short accuracy (91)
- +1 to medium accuracy (87)
- +1 to deep accuracy (88)
- +1 to throw on run (88)
- +1 to play action (86)
No speed upgrade here means Dak continues to be just short of getting Escape Artist. I can see why EA chose to do that, but I’m sure it still leaves some people salty. That being said, it’s clear from the way these rating boosts were given out that the physical boosts were only happening with a +2 overall, not just the +1 overall.
All in all, these boosts are most likely disappointing to those who invested in these cards as +1 just doesn’t move the needle much. The +2 changes to Roquan Smith are a little more sizable, but even those would be somewhat underwhelming to me if I was banking on flipping these Harvest cards for big profits.
