Madden 25 Sliders From Matt10 (Version 1)

Matt10’s Madden 25 sliders are up and running, and this is the first week I feel comfortable starting to share some of the sliders from the community.

In part, I say that because there are some ongoing issues with Madden that some of us are hoping get patched. Things like zone coverage are in a bit of a rough spot right now, and much like College Football 25 before it, the first major patch might clear up some of the biggest problems.

Regardless, NFL preseason action came to a close yesterday, and we’re just over a week away from real NFL games, so I wouldn’t blame anyone for wanting to start a franchise mode this week. With that in mind, here’s Matt10 with his All-Madden sliders and explanation for them.

This game needed a lot of help out of the box. The game was wide open at 50 threshold, and it felt like nothing really mattered in how I set up my defense, or even how the CPU set theirs up.

Big changes had to happen and I started with finding the threshold/speed-parity to determine the main issue, which was the DBs stopping on routes and not reacting. Once this was changed to 75 (gradual 5-step increments), the stopping on routes were lessened, and from there it was about trying to get the defenders to react to the ball in the air. This isn’t done through pass reaction unfortunately, but rather the Roughing the Passer value paired up with a lower PCV that keeps routes followed a lot tighter, depending on ratings of course.

Intentional grounding was the next adjustment to get the CPU QB to have a bit less robotic feel to them and be a bit more human in their decision making.

After that I adjusted the physics based tackling, which I think is a great addition, as it keeps players in forward momentum and makes bigger hits that push them back more significant and stand out.

Within the gameplay sliders, it’s basically accepting what the game is wanting to do on default and addressing the obvious values such as QBA, PBL and WRC lowered. It’s nice to see overthrows and underthrows be respected, while not every catch is made in traffic or even wide open. The same goes with defensive players not able to snag the ball out of mid-air every time.

I want there to be pressure to perform, and adjusting these sliders have accomplished that. Sure the CPU QB can get hot, as can the user. It’s a challenge and a fun one at that. The feel of the game is much better with the physics and threshold changes, while making sure there is no “samey” type feeling throughout the teams and their players.

I hope you enjoy it. I’ll work on the AP set this week.

Thanks!
