MLB The Show 24
JWDixon's All-Inclusive Franchise Spreadsheet for MLB The Show 24
When it comes to getting the most out of your MLB The Show 24 franchise mode experience, there’s lots of different ways to go about it. One of the more useful tools outside of the game to use if you want to get a little more hardcore comes from OS user JWDixon120 and his franchise spreadsheet tool.
While you should get the full explanation from JW in the thread, I’ll sum up this spreadsheet as both an organizational tool and also a way to create more in-depth systems around key moments of an MLB season like free agency, the trade deadline, or the draft. My favorite part of the spreadsheet is the “trade value calculator” as it’s a good way to get another judgment on a trade you’re thinking about doing, or if you do 30-team control, it’s a good way to figure out if you should allow a trade to happen.
There is even more to it than that, but I do think it’s best to just poke around the spreadsheet or watch the tutorial from JW, which I’ll embed below:
Here are the features:

Currently, the spreadsheet has a few lines on each sheet filled out to give a rough template of how it should look.
Here is a breakdown of how to use each of the features:
TRANSACTIONS:
- – Track every move made by your team or league
- – Spaces for notes are allowed to jot down why a move was made
- – Team Logos sheet can be used to copy and paste into this sheet under “Former Team”
- – Track each draft pick your team makes including their Scouting Report and MLB Comparison (Use your imagination)
TRADE VALUE CALCULATOR
- – Enter a player’s previous 3 years WAR, Games Played, and Contract Info and a Trade Value is spit back out.
- – Use this to compare when making trades between MLB Players
- – Also use the Prospect Value sheet to reference when trades involving Farmhands.
- – This calculation is based on the MLB The Show 20 Trade Discussion Thread
IFA Generator
- – Vanilla MLB The Show has never included International Free Agents even though they are seen everywhere in today’s game.
- – Use this tool during the offseason to generate up to 3 IFA’s
- – This Tool has the chance to generate superstar players at ages 18-20 although superstar players are very rare to generate.
- – Most players will be in the 60’s for Overall and 70’s for Potential
- – If you think a player Generated is simply “Too OP” then by all means do not put them into the game.
- – Use the Read Me within this sheet in the workbook to Learn More
STORYLINE/EVENT GENERATORS
- – Unfortunately, MLBTS can have a severe lack of storylines without a great imagination from the User
- – This tool intends on helping that aspect of your Franchise
- – Event Generators should be used as specifically noted for certain times throughout your Franchise
- – Always remember if you do not like a certain event, you do not have to use it
- – Please suggest more events to be added into the sheet!
PLAYER STATS
- – User should follow the read me on this sheet as well
- – User should enter mainly just counting stats as all other stats are automatically calculated
Use as much or as little of the spreadsheet as you want, but I do think it’s a really nice way to add some depth to areas of franchise mode that don’t quite hit the spot. I’ve also found it gets me to care more about my franchise mode as I’m doing a little work outside of the game to enrich my experience and feel even more like the GM of a club.
