It Has Been a Busy Month: Here's Our Top Three Games You Should Buy (Roundtable)
Kevin Scott
- NBA 2K19
- NHL 19
- The Golf Club 2019
There might be some recency bias here since these are newer games that I’ve been playing the most lately, but these would be my current choices.
Kevin Groves
- FIFA 19
- NBA 2K19
- Madden 19
A great online game (FIFA), offline game (NBA 2K) and the only football game on the market (winning by default is still winning).
Josh Houtz
- Madden 19
- FIFA 19
- NBA 2K19
My love for football makes it nearly impossible to pass on Madden, and I do believe this is one of the best to date. FIFA is probably the game I enjoy playing most, especially online. NBA 2K continues to be one of the best representations of a sports game on the market.
Matt Llewellyn
- NBA 2K19
- Madden 19
- NHL 19
2K is again the deepest franchise in sports and has a million ways to play in spite of microtransactions. Madden is football and as a die-hard football fanatic it’s on my list every year. NHL 19 has made me a fan with cool things like World of Chel and the fog of war scouting mechanic, despite me not being the biggest hockey fan in general.
Brandon Kosal
- NBA 2K19
- MLB The Show 18
- WWE 2K18
NBA 2K19 is the GOAT of sports video games. It’s mandatory. MLB The Show 18 is easily the second-best franchise in the genre. And one could argue no sports game has a more realistic feel than The Show. Lastly, WWE 2K18. As a lifelong wrestling fan, I can’t be without a wrestling game.
Joel Smith
- NBA 2K19
- FIFA 19
- Madden NFL 19/NHL 19 (Tie)
NBA 2K19. A must have right out the gate. Absolutely beautiful game. FIFA 19 is my second choice. It is absolutely disappointing that there was absolutely zero change to Manager mode, but the acquisition of Champions League and the updated gameplay alone make it worth buying. Plus, thanks to slider modifications from community guys like Matt10L, the game plays SO WELL. Finally, a tie between both Madden 19 and NHL 19. I’m sorry I can’t decide but RPM has changed the way that EA Sport’s titles play this year. Madden feels and plays the best that it’s played in a long time. It’s become enjoyable again. NHL feels like it’s what we should have seen last year in terms of how play on the ice feels, but the skating is divine this year. Tightened up gameplay makes it a quality product on the ice. The World of Chel is a nice addition to wrap up the online world of EASHL and the newly added modes together.
