The Gran Turismo 7 release has been pushed from 2021 to 2022. In a recent article at GQ, a Sony PR rep stated the delayed release is due to Covid-related production challenges.
“GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.”
When Gran Turismo 7 was announced during the PlayStation 5 event in June 2020, many fans anticipated a launch release on the next-gen console. When that didn’t happen, a PlayStation ad in November, confirmed a first half of 2021 launch window, then later simply “Coming 2021“.
Gran Turismo fans in general are used to delays in the series. The pandemic has delayed plenty forms of entertainment, Gran Turismo 7 is just another game thrown into that mix. It’s unfortunate, but also something that is to be expected, at least in this day and age.
