Forza Motorsport Update 8 has arrived today making some tweaks to Safety Ratings, adding a new tire wear scale option, making changes to Drivatar AI breaking behavior, updated livery editor and more. This update doesn’t include a new track, but the team promises one in Update 9, which is scheduled to release in June.
Below are a few fixes and gameplay related changes featured in Update 8. For a full list, make sure to visit the official page for the patch notes, as well as a message to the community for future updates.
- – The Livery Editor now includes a Vinyl Material tool for adjusting vinyl materials from matte to glossy uniformly. This tool also features a reset option. Imported designs from Forza Horizon 5 will adopt these settings automatically.Â
- – A Tire Wear Scale option is now available in Free Play and Private Multiplayer, allowing adjustments to tire wear rates from .5x to 10x, with 1x being the default. This setting can be found in the Event Setup Rules tab and the Fuel & Tire menu when on track.
- – Safety Ratings in Featured Multiplayer now consider the last 20 races instead of 10 and on-track collisions have a greater impact. These changes take effect after the first race in Update 8.
- – The matchmaking algorithm has been improved to narrow the range of Safety Ratings matched with the player’s own. For example, players with an ‘S’ Safety Rating will no longer be paired with those having ‘E’ and ‘D’ Safety Ratings. Groups will be connected to matches based on the player with the lowest Safety Rating.
- – Unnecessary braking scenarios for Drivatar AI opponents have been reduced, such as braking while attempting to pass or on straights.
