Forza Motorsport to Feature Major Physics Changes, Tire Compounds and Environmental Factors
Forza panel members were recently able to test the upcoming Forza Motorsport. Creative Director Chris Esaki mentions in the video below that the title of the game is Forza Motorsport, not Forza Motorsport 8. The team is reimagining the series and stress that it’s an all-new Forza Motorsport experience.

Here are some of the details discussed in the latest Forza Monthly, but watch the video for more.
- Changes made in the physics from Forza Motorsport 7 to the new game is more than what was made in Forza Motorsport 4 though 7.
- Tires had a single point of contact with the track in previous Forza titles and refreshed at 60hz. In the new Forza Motorsport, the tire has 8 points of contact at 360hz. That’s a 48x fidelity jump.
- Players can feel the track surface a lot more, translating to better control of the vehicle.
- Curbs have been improved. Instead of being coarse and unsettling like previous games, the curbs now feel much more dialed in, smooth and natural. The tires can really feel the road and it will translate into gameplay.
- Added new tire compounds (hard, medium and soft).
- Environmental factors (weather, time of day) are coming and it will dramatically change the gameplay, making each lap feel different.
- My man really loves tires.
This is obviously just the tip of the iceberg on what’s coming to Forza Motorsport. I’m really looking forward to hearing more.
