EA Sports has revealed their third and final Gameplay Deep Dive video and blog today for F1 24, covering track and driver improvements alongside updated authenticity and enhancements designed to elevate the realism and immersion within the game.Â
The development team has undertaken significant reworking of fan-favorite tracks like Silverstone and Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps to ensure accurate circuit representation. Fans will now be able to feel every bump, curb and change in elevation at the British Grand Prix’s home circuit, while also enjoying the newly reprofiled sections of the Belgian track. Updates have also been applied to the Lusail International Circuit and Jeddah Corniche Circuit, bringing them more in line with their real-world counterparts.
In F1 24, players can expect an elevated level of realism thanks to several exciting enhancements. Firstly, the game introduces new in-race driver audio directly sourced from real-world F1 broadcasts, along with a greater variety of cutscenes to enhance the overall immersion. Attention has also been given to recreating the cars of all 10 teams, utilizing detailed CAD data. This is complemented by the integration of Ray-Traced Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination technology, which enhances the game’s lighting, shadows and reflections for a more visually stunning experience.
F1 24 brings improvements to driver appearances as well, including full hair rendering and enhanced eye and skin shaders. The roster of Icons has also expanded, featuring notable figures like Pastor Maldonado, Jamie Chadwick and exclusively in the F1 24 Champions Edition, 1976 champion James Hunt and 7-time race winner Juan Pablo Montoya. For the first time, players can embark on a comprehensive Driver Career as one of these Icons or enlist them as teammates in My Team mode, adding a new layer of depth and excitement to the gameplay experience.
F1 24 will release on May 31 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, via EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam. Players purchasing the digital exclusive F1 24 Champions Edition will receive early access for up to three days, starting on May 28.
