EA Sports WRC Patch 1.5.1 Arrives Tomorrow, Season 3 on February 13 - Patch Notes
EA Sports WRC patch 1.5.1 arrives tomorrow at 6:00 AM ET providing plenty of fixes, improvements and adjustments to various modes and gameplay. The team also announced Season 3 is scheduled to arrive on February 13 with new Moments, 25 Rally Pass levels, unique liveries and more. Make sure to watch the embedded trailer below.
The new Season 3 Moments will not only follow the real-world 2024 season, but also celebrate the rich history of WRC. Daily in-game challenges inspired by rally legends like Paddy Hopkirk, Teemu Suninen and Erik Cais will put drivers’ skills to the test across a range of locations and vehicles.
In addition, players have the opportunity to win a 3-month subscription to Rally.TV, the official streaming service of the FIA World Rally Championship. To secure one of the 3000 available codes, players must participate in the virtual Rally Sweden event in-game. Read the blog for additional details.
VR support for PC players is currently being worked on, but more details and a release date will be revealed once it’s ready. We’ve listed some of the fixes for EA Sports WRC patch 1.51 below. Visit the official page for the full patch notes, as it’s quite lengthy.
- Expanded upon Unreal Engine’s shader compilation process when booting the game on PC, by adding PSO support for compute shaders. This should help reduce the amount of stutter experienced during gameplay.
- Expanded upon Unreal Engine’s VFX system (“Niagara”), adding PSO support for compute shaders. This should help reduce the amount of stutter experienced during gameplay.
- Fixed an issue in some scenarios in which micro-stuttering was occurring while the player was hitting maximum FPS with V-Sync enabled. This should result in a smoother experience during gameplay.
- Fixed an issue on all locations in which some reset lines were only triggering from one side, allowing players to pass through them freely.
- Fixed a number of issues related to reset lines, corner-cutting and object collision behaviour across several locations.
- Addressed a number of areas in which framerate would drop significantly on Chile. Other locations may also see a slight performance improvement as a result.
