Here’s the latest EA Sports UFC 5 video featuring content creator Bayliun as he and the team provide details on all of the game modes, including Fight Week, Career Mode and more.
FIGHT WEEK
UFC 5 is truly an extension of the UFC fan experience, and there’s no better example than with the return of the Fight Week gameplay mode. This time it’s been revamped into a next-level, event-driven live service. In the build-up to the biggest UFC events, you’ll be able to take part in a series of all-new challenges and features that really connect you with the blockbuster UFC cards and the world of MMA in a way that’s never been done before.
- FIGHT WEEK CHALLENGES – After every Fight Week update, you will be presented with several Fight Week Challenges. These give you different objectives to complete throughout the week, and you will have the opportunity to unlock rewards inspired by those events, including newly created fighter Vanity Items, player profile customization assets, emotes, and Alter Egos.
- FIGHT PICKS – You can also make your own Fight Picks in-game before real-world UFC events, so you can make predictions for the main card of every PPV. You’ll automatically be seeded into a Fight Pick leaderboard after making your picks, and the top-ranking players on the leaderboard after each event will earn in-game UFC Coins.
- FIGHT WEEK CONTRACTS – Each update will also include Fight Week Contracts, daily fights where you take on AI opponents under preset gameplay settings. Completing these Contracts can earn you UFC Coin; the difficulty of these Contracts increases over the course of the Fight Week. Your total wins, losses, and finishes are tracked in the Contracts tab.
ONLINE CAREER MODE
Online Career Mode is back, where you can take your custom fighter into the Octagon against players from around the world. It includes skill-based matchmaking, division progression, and title chases across four divisions, with plenty of rewards to earn at every level.
- ONLINE FIGHTER EVOLUTION – As you fight in Online Career matches, you earn Evolution Points that can be used to improve your fighter’s attributes, moves, and perks. Once you reach the level cap for your fighter, you can prestige, which will reset your Evolution Points to the starting point, but increase the level cap and unlock access to additional moves and perks.
- XP BOOSTS – There are also XP Boosts you can activate that increase the rate that you earn Evolution Points. Boosts can be acquired as in-game rewards, giving you more incentives to get into the Octagon.
- PUNCH CARD – Level up the new UFC Punch Card across game modes and earn a set of predetermined rewards, including in-game currency, player profile customizations, created fighter Vanity Items, and new Alter Egos.
- ALTER EGO – Alter Egos are a new way to unlock different versions of your favorite UFC athletes, with different playstyles, looks, and new abilities. Each Alter Ego represents a legendary UFC athlete in an authentic career-defining moment.
