EA Sports F1 24 Patch 1.4 Available Today - Patch Notes

EA Sports F1 24 patch 1.4 has arrived today on all platforms addressing a few issues that cropped up after patch 1.3 dropped last week. Check out the patch notes below along with some notes from the developers on upcoming fixes and issues the team is currently investigating.

KEY CHANGES & IMPROVEMENTS

  • – Fixed an issue in Career modes where the players Pace rating would be excessively reduced if they didn’t set Fastest Lap.
  • – Fixed an issue where all cars could begin races on the wrong tyre compound (wet/dry) for the track conditions.
  • – Casual Settings Filter will no longer try to set Quick Weather to Clear, which caused issues in some game modes.
  • – Resolved an Issue where the cars ERS could sometimes be unexpectedly disabled.

The developers have identified the following items for future patch fixes. However, this does not guarantee that all of these fixes will be included in the next patch; they may be addressed in the upcoming patch or in future ones.

  • – Career – Two-player Career mode becoming unresponsive in menus – Link to Temporary Workaround
  • – Career – Drivers incorrectly or unfairly losing Pace rating if they don’t set Fastest Lap
  • – Career – Weather desync occurring in Two-Player Career
  • – Career – Focus stat rolling back to ’99’ incorrectly
  • – Career –  Pace stat increasing incorrectly
  • – Gameplay – Wet weather tyre compounds unavailable/incorrect in certain conditions – Link to Temporary Workaround
  • – Gameplay – ERS never deploys. As a workaround for now, please increase your brake deadzone.
  • – Gameplay – ERS suddenly stops deploying, due to an ERS reliability fault not being communicated to the player.
  • – Gameplay – All cars starting on slick tyres in wet conditions
  • – Gameplay – Wet tyres not available in wet conditions, when the player uses the Casual race style
  • – Gameplay – Unable to open radio comms
  • – MyTeam – PS5 players potentially getting a “customisation item removed” error after applying sponsor logos to their MyTeam livery

The dev team is also aware that many people have reported the following issues. They are currently investigating to determine if and how these issues can be resolved.

  • – AI – Excessively-long AI ERS trains
  • – AI – Excessively-long AI DRS trains
  • – Audio – F1 ‘Theme Song’ is being copyright-claimed on YouTube
  • – Input Devices – Thrustmaster TX wheel not being recognised (PC)
  • – Input Devices – Logitech G923 FFB not working correctly unless turning off and on (Xbox Series)
  • – Multiplayer – Unusual collisions during some Multiplayer races
  • – Multiplayer – Equal team performance setting not applying correctly in some scenarios
  • – MyTeam – MyTeam unable to proceed after ~1.5 Seasons
  • – Replays – Replay audio doesn’t always match on-screen visuals
  • – Stability – Game crashing on boot due to GFX issue
  • – Stability – Game occasionally soft-locking at the beginning of a race session
  • – Stability – Game occasionally crashing after completing an FP3 session in MyTeam
  • – Stability – PC players experiencing game crashes if the game is not added as BitDefender exception – Workaround 1 – Workaround 2
  • – Tracks – Invisible bump following Turn 15 (Silverstone)
  • – Tracks – Invisible bump at Turn 13 (Spain)
  • – UI – Customisations to on-screen display (OSD) aren’t being saved
  • – UI – Haas and Ferrari using the same colour on timing board and mini-map
