Golf Clash
EA Sports and PGA Tour Multi-Year Agreement Will Bring Real PGA Courses to Golf Clash
Golf Clash fans can practice to earn a chance to compete in THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass today, marking the first time such an opportunity is available in the game. This event signals the beginning of a multi-year partnership between EA SPORTS, Playdemic and PGA TOUR to incorporate a variety of real-life golf courses and iconic events into Golf Clash in the years to come.
As a way to commemorate the occasion, nine holes from THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass are now accessible. Golf Clash enthusiasts are encouraged to explore the courses during the available practice rounds.
From March 9 to 10, players can earn the chance to participate in the qualification rounds of THE PLAYERS Championship 9-Hole Cup in-game. Those who make it to the next round can compete in the tournament until March 11. Additionally, all Golf Clash players have the opportunity to try for a hole-in-one at the renowned 17th hole in THE PLAYERS Golden Shot event, which could lead to rewards and a distinct in-game TPC Sawgrass ball that has an official license.
Golf Clash is available and free on iOS, Android, Amazon and Facebook.
“We’re thrilled to officially welcome the PGA TOUR and THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass to Golf Clash, expanding the ways players can experience iconic golf events around the world,“ said Andrew Pedersen, Vice President of Mobile Sports at Electronic Arts. “The multi-year agreement with the PGA TOUR allows us to bring some of the world’s best courses to players’ mobile devices, all played through the beloved Golf Clash experience.”
“Growing the game of golf and providing fun new ways for fans of all ages to participate in the sport is a key priority,” said Len Brown, Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President, Licensing at PGA TOUR. “Starting Golf Clash fans with THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass and the island green at 17 is an exciting and fun way to experience one of the sport’s many wonders.”
