2K announced back in September, a new program created to support underserved communities across the nation, by refurbishing basketball courts in neighborhoods that need them the most. The court refurbishments feature environmentally-safe upgrades and offer resources to create local basketball tournaments and other positive endeavors that promote diversity, sportsmanship, learning and the positive power of community.
The neighborhoods include Cincinnati, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Chicago and Cleveland within its first year. 2K Foundations also provides essential technology upgrades in local community centers that will enable STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education programming for the youth, with the support of local advocacy groups and communities.
2K, Project Backboard, and Xbox have now teamed up and starting today and ending December 14, they will be holding a contest to see who can create the best custom basketball court to be used in their next renovation.
Once you’ve designed your court, you can submit your design on Twitter to @NBA2K for a chance to win some nice prizes, including a custom Xbox One X console or two tickets to the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte, North Carolina.
