College Football 25 Patch Allows You to Edit Player Numbers for Non-NIL Players

A small update for College Football 25 has added some more player editing to the game, but it comes with some exceptions for now.

As of now, this update will allow you to edit the numbers of players, but it’s only available in offline dynasties (pre-existing or new), and it’s only for non-NIL players (meaning fake players/recruits). This means you can’t edit the numbers in the normal Manage Rosters screen of the main menu, and it means you can’t access this feature right now in any version of an online dynasty. Online dynasties will apparently get this feature in the future, according to College Football 25 developer Scott O’Gallagher.

To get to the Edit Player screen in dynasty mode, a reminder that you need to go to:

View Roster –> Go to fake player and click View Player Card (triangle or Y depending on platform) –> Scroll to More and click Edit Player

You can do this for players both on your team and not on your team. You can’t have duplicate numbers, and you can’t change the numbers of NIL players, so certain numbers will be unavailable for a variety of reasons. And, again, if you clicked Single Player when starting your dynasty, this is the group of people who will have access to this feature. If you clicked Cloud Multi User to do an online dynasty, then you won’t have it (at least for now) in your dynasty.

If you want to know all the fake players in College Football 25 after the latest patch, we also have that info here (it should be close to every fake player at least). And, of course, if a real NIL player has the wrong number there’s nothing you can do about that — you just have to hope EA fixes those in future roster updates.
