If you’ve been following the NBA 2K community on social media over the last few days, then you’ll notice that many players are saying that they’re taking their talents to New Zealand by flying to the country. For what, exactly? Why, to play NBA 2K24 hours earlier of course. Everyone is obviously joking about actually going to New Zealand, but these jokes have been brought up because there’s a way you can access 2K24 early on your Xbox (sorry PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC players).
We’ve seen things like this with games in the past where you could switch time zones and gain slightly earlier access. There was even a time where a game/virtual world called PlayStation Home had an entirely different world on the Hong Kong server versus the United States one, so on many occasions gamers would make separate accounts just to access the Hong Kong version of PS Home.
But, as for 2K, if you want to pull off this trick then it’s pretty simple (no plane ticket required). So, first things first is to make sure you have NBA 2K24 pre-ordered and pre-loaded onto your Xbox in your current region. This magic New Zealand trick will work at the following times: 05:00 PDT, 08:00 EST, and 13:00 BST on September 7.
Once you have followed the above steps, do the following:
And just like that, you will have officially flown down to New Zealand without actually flying, and you can hoop a bit earlier on NBA 2K24. If you do decide to use this method, then enjoy creating your MyPlayer or cracking open MyTeam packs a bit earlier. Or just enjoy playing good old Play Now.

In addition, he's really been bewitched by the Steam Deck and has been looking for any and all ways to play sports games on Steam's portable device. When he's not playing PGA Tour 2K, NBA 2K, or EA Sports PGA Tour, you can find him watching plenty of sports on TV.
