The Golf Club 2019
Beat the Heat With These Courses in TGC 2019
Summer is here, and it is hot and humid in many areas of the world. If you can’t handle the heat outside, don’t let that keep you from using the sticks inside. Settle into the sofa with The Golf Club 2019. There are an endless amount of golf courses you can play on TGC 2019 — probably in the hundreds of thousands. There is a plentiful mix of great courses that are either fictional or replicas of real designs. The majority of them are original designs by the TGC 2019 community. In my selection of courses, I have included designs that are challenging, easy and mixed with a variety of features. Grab your digital golf clubs, relax in your air conditioning and enjoy this mix of courses from The Golf Club 2019.
Ardoilean: Par 72 – Yardage: 7,516
As a course creator myself, I find Ardoilean to be a phenomenal design. The amount of changes in elevation to each hole is fantastic. There are so many areas of intricate sculpting involved to create this design. Through each hole, you can gauge the amount of time it probably took to create such a fantastic course setup. Furthermore, the designer of Ardoilean included ample vegetation to the landscape to create a unique feel as you progress through each hole. Ardoilean can play different from day to day depending upon the direction of the wind.
At 7,500 plus yards, if you happen to get the course into the wind it will play at a mammoth length. On the flip side, if you have the wind behind your back, the length doesn’t hurt you as much. Each angle and ball flight choice should be considered at Ardoilean. Doglegs are aplenty, and you can either shape the ball around the corners, or just plain carry them with the risk of being a bit short or driving through the fairway. With several different elevation changes, you can expect a lot of uneven lies to complicate your approach shots. The seventh hole on Ardoilean is a perfect example of the challenges the course will throw at you. Enjoy this design.
Predator 2 (The Return): Par 72 – Yardage: 7,662
The Predator was a fan favorite from Tiger Woods PGA Tour games in the past. In this remastered version of The Predator, you will find yourself slipping into the past and reliving many of the unique holes The Predator will challenge you in every way. There are severe elevation changes, trees and hazards come into play on almost any shot. If you’re faced with a decision to go for it or club down, then it is probably best to club down and take a longer approach shot.
The Predator 2 will make your head spin at times. Stay focused and see if you can survive a round at even par.
Keola Wahi Plantation: Par 72 – Yardage: 7,649
In a tropical setting, Keola Wahi Plantation requires a long ball. The course plays more than 7,600 yards long. In this design, you will find a variety of elevation changes. On the front nine, the course doesn’t play as long as the yardage states with the majority of the holes playing under 500 yards. You also will get a bit of extra help as many play shorter due to elevation. In terms of hazards, Keola Wahi has an immense number of bunkers to bring bogeys and double bogeys into play. If you take them out of play with your club selection, you shouldn’t find yourself in many.
On the back nine, the course shows its length. The three par fives on the backside play at yardages of 594, 582 and 596 — an increase of 300 total yards to the back-nine yardage. As for the greens, you can expect the standard to minimal green undulations and medium green speeds. There are many putts out on the course to be made.
The Olmstead South Course: Par 71 – Yardage: 7,229
Built in the middle of a major city, you will find the South Course at The Olmstead. This is a very unique design and the creator did a fantastic job with creating a city environment around the golf course. This course was selected based on the creativity of the design. The Olmstead didn’t play overly difficult. However, as with any golf course, if you’re unable to place the ball in the correct spots you will find yourself trying to save par rather than realistic birdie puts.
At this course, on a good day, you can find yourself on track for the course record. If the wind is up and you take too many risks, it won’t hurt you, but it may limit you to even or one to two under par.
Shaliath: Par 72 – Yardage: 6,833
Enter Shaliath, a very smooth and beautiful course using a rustic design theme. The course plays short at a little over 6,800 yards, but does require you to shape the ball left and right on some holes to find the fairway or green. In my opinion, Shaliath plays a bit on the easier side. The overall course yardage is shorter than most. This consistently brings in approach shots with short irons and wedges. If you can dial those in, then you will find yourself with a lot of realistic birdie opportunities.
The par fives play shorter than most, and you’ll able to reach them in two to bring eagle into play. The greens are fairly standard and don’t have many undulations that require a ton of feel with the putter to sink a lot of putts. I found Shaliath to be a great design for a nice comfortable round of golf. Bad shots don’t get penalized as much as some courses, so you can put the ball back into play and save par.
These course selections include a lot of variety. They can be played by a variety of skill levels. There are unlimited amounts of other courses created by the community to test your skills hole after hole. After you play these courses, try playing others from different themes with different vegetation and obstacles in play. Pop in TGC 2019 and make your way to the first tee of all of these designs. You won’t be disappointed by the enormous amount of work creators have put into the details of each course.
