Battle Royale Season 4 - Prime George Springer

Battle Royale Season 4 - Milestone Longoria and Prime Springer Added

Battle Royale Season 4 in MLB The Show 22 kicks off today, and with it we get Prime George Springer and Milestone Evan Longoria as the new Flawless rewards. The penultimate reward is a Postseason Christy Mathewson, plus we have a new batch of bronze/silver/gold players in the BR choice packs. Lastly, we now get the return of a Rewind Flawless pack on the rewards track. As it relates to BR itself, we now have a third diamond round for drafting as well.

  • Prime George Springer
  • Milestone Evan Longoria

Starting with Prime George Springer, this may in fact be the best CF available in the game now. He has full outfield flexibility to go with 90+ ratings in all four hitting categories. On top of that, he has 79 vision, 92 fielding, 88 arm, 94 reaction, and 79 speed. He won’t be a massive threat to steal a bag, but otherwise he’s incredibly well rounded. On top of that, many folks should already be confident using Springer because he’s had sick cards in the past (and has a great swing). Lastly, he is right handed, which is more important right now with a lot of the top pitchers being lefties.

Milestone Evan Longoria is the other card in Battle Royale Season 4. Some of his thunder gets stolen coming out so close to Rafael Devers and George Brett, but he’s still arguably right below George Brett now in the 3B rankings. He also has 90+ ratings in all four hitting categories like Springer. Beyond that, he has 89 vision, 88 fielding, 87 arm, 91 reaction, and 61 speed. He does not have any positional flexibility and the speed is not elite, but otherwise this is another very well rounded card. Longoria does not have as many believers as Springer because his swing is not as meta, but he’s still another elite right-handed bat to consider now at 3B.

Headliners Set 22 – Future Stars Vidal Brujan

Headliners Set 22 - Future Stars Vidal Brujan

The other new card for today is Headliners Set 22 Future Stars Vidal Brujan. This will now be in the running for the best Headliners card dropped so far. He is a switch hitter with supreme positional versatility. He’s also a known commodity as people loved him in a prior game. Along with Ketel Marte, he’s now going to be the Headliner who goes for the most in the marketplace. In relation to Marte, he’s got less power but otherwise beats out Marte by having more speed, contact, and can play in CF.

The odds on Headliners packs to pull a diamond are 1:10 (as always), albeit that diamond might not be Future Stars Vidal Brujan. In addition, this year you can buy one pack of the Headliners choice pack, which gives you 1:3 odds of pulling a 90+ overall diamond (and of course costs more stubs).
